I am very sad to say that Cedarwood is not what it once was. I had been a customer for some time until recently, always calling in when in Preston. I used to enjoy the Atkinson's Prototype coffee served there, and found the staff agreeable and helpful. However, recently I called in and was served a lukewarm, three-quarters-full Americano [made from Red Bank coffee, I believe] that was perfectly dreadful. How anyone could take pride in serving it, is beyond me.The male member of staff who brought the drinks to our table [not Jeremy] also managed to spill some of the undrinkable fare in the saucer. I didn't complain because my wife asked me not to, but we left after a few minutes. Additionally...
I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have found it to be a fantastic place to study. However, I have been disappointed by their inconsistent opening hours. I have made the effort to go there several times after checking on Google, only to discover that it is closed. Despite this inconvenience, I will still return because I love the atmosphere and their selection of teas. I hope they can resolve this issue in the future.
This little coffee shop quite quickly became my favourite in Preston. The sweet treats are amazing for those who have a sweet tooth. The upstairs area is cosy and perfect to simply sit back and relax. The staff are always friendly and truly make you feel welcome. As for the coffee well, it wouldn’t be my favourite coffee shop if I didn’t love the coffee. In short: great coffee, great food, great service.
I have to say that this coffee shop in Preston is the best. I always seem to go when it's empty, but don't let that deter you. The service is always excellent - the staff are polite, knowledgeable, and not intrusive. I don't understand why anyone would choose a chain over this quaint gem. I hope it continues to do well because it truly deserves it.

Visited after reading a recommendation and was definitely worth it. From the outside it is hard to see past the small downstairs. However, when you get upstairs it has a couple of beautiful rooms to sit and relax in. Coffee was beautifully made and food very nice. It was so good I have been back twice in two days!!!!
I have come to cedar wood cafe on various occasions and I decided to bring my friend who was visiting from Greece. My flat white was amazing, and she really enjoyed her latte. I love the calm and quiet atmosphere of this cafe, and it’s great to catch-up with friends or family. I will be returning again.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The coffee was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was friendly. The name of the restaurant reminded me of a coffee bar I used to visit in the 1970s in Winckley Square, which unfortunately no longer exists.
In my youth I was a regular customer of the original Cedarwood in Winckley Street. Now a regular at its namesake located across the road from the original. Great panninis and excellent coffee. Good friendly service.

Delicious, quality flat white with no bitter taste unlike the coffee you can expect from costa/starbucks. This will be my regular coffee shop when visiting Preston! Thank you!
