To be fair, hats off to this mom and pop restaurant for making it through the pandemic years. When we went here 2 years ago, the food was fresh and inviting, the flavors blending together in a welcoming way. But something happened in those 2 years and the result was that 5 of the 6 of us were disappointed in our meals and thus the ding of several stars in the rating. I had a difficult time deciding how to write this review, but the bottom line is: do not visit this restaurant within an hour of closing. They were unable to provide us with the full menu, even though we had already placed our order. The issue began when we were seated at 7:50, only to be informed at 8:05 that we had just one minute to order because they close at 8:30 (they literally said that to us). We made our selections and placed our order, only to be told at 8:10 that they were out of bread because they close at 8:30. Have you ever been to a restaurant that exceeded all your expectations? This place is on another level. The food and service were both outstanding! They serve fresh bread at every table, just like in Italy. Every dish we tried was made with completely fresh, high-quality ingredients. The combination of flavors, textures, and aromas was incredible. We enjoyed the carpaccio appetizer, spinach salad, and gnocchi - all of which were absolutely delicious! The gnocchi was so tender it practically melted in our mouths. For dessert, we shared a cake that was also incredible! We can't wait to come back and try everything on the menu. They will definitely remember our names.
I ordered the burrata which lacked flavor and the veal was the toughest I've ever had. Despite being homemade, the food tasted bad and ruined my anniversary dinner. The bread was also tough, indicating a lack of proper preparation or quality vendors. This restaurant tries to pass itself off as fancy but falls short. I would rate the food a 1 out of 5. I would say that this is the best Italian restaurant I have tried in the last 5 years. Whenever I go there, I always make sure to try their special of the day. On my most recent visit, I ordered three pasta dishes to share. They make their own olive oil and balsamic sauce, which pairs perfectly with the pasta.
