Sorry about the messy photo, was already in my plate to start eating. I had the pulled chicken plate with onion rings and a side of slaw. We also had a ½ order of the pulled pork nachos. The nachos were good, but I wish they did a little better at layering the meat, cheese and chips. The top is always the best spot but then they got dry and skimpy just below that. My food was cooked well and the onion rings had a nice crisp, although a couple of them were empty! I never made my own rings, but shouldn't there be an onion inside?
Reordered 1 lb of sausage and a half order of central barbecues famous pulled pork nachos. Truthfully it was just okay I would not recommend ordering the nachos again. The chips are very flimsy pork is a little dry and the cheese granular. The sausage tastes a lot like kielbasa. Watching other people order the most popular items appeared to be the barbecue nachos, chicken wings, ribs, and salad bowls. They have four types of sauces available mustard, vinegar, medium, and hot. The medium is the chains primary sauce
Central Barbecue was highly recommended by many locals when we mentioned our visit to Memphis and our desire to try the best ribs. The ribs were indeed delicious, and the potato salad and onion rings were equally impressive. My wife noted that the women's restroom was pristine and beautifully decorated. Additionally, drinks are included in the meal price, which I know might seem like a small detail, but it really contributes to an outstanding overall experience.

We really enjoy Central BBQ. The atmosphere is excellent, and the menu offers a great variety. They also have a nice selection of local beers, and it's one of the few BBQ spots where you can find a BBQ portabella mushroom sandwich. Their mac and cheese is outstanding! The location on Poplar has a fantastic vibe. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5/5.
had to visit central bbq, one when memphis best bbq. there is a lot of very good bbq places to eat, but I love the dry ruin and only good BBQ sauce and it's money. the mac and the cheese were really good. the green beans were like can beans, the smoked truthahn was really good, bananenpudding was good, but just a piece of bananen. it is worth it.
I had a pretty good experience at Central BBQ! Nice outdoor seating that's accommodating for big groups and a casual ambiance. I really enjoyed the dry ribs and tried them with all four sauces they offered. It's a nice touch that they keep the sauces warm. However the brisket was lackluster. I would recommend sticking with the ribs.
Ordered dry rub wings thinking 7 sounded like a good order, little did I know they were going to be full size pterodactyl wings. Not just drummette and flats, but full wings, and HUGE. They were so big after we ate one a piece, the other five we had to smash to get them into a take home box! Definitely will be back.
