Central Hotel Bistro

Have been to Lakes Entrance a number of times but last week visited Central Hotel Bistro for the 1st time. It was so good we went again for dinner the following night. We walked in to be immediately greeted by Matt (1st night) and Neil (2nd night) who appeared to be the manager's on duty. They handed us menu's and showed us to our table, then told us about the long list of specials and explained where to order meals & drinks etc. All meals were generous and of good quality and all of the staff were extremely pleasant and it seemed to have a very happy working atmosphere. We were walking a familiarity route of the esplanade at Lakes Entrance when we read the lunch time menu at this establishment.Returning later, we were not disappointed. Friendly greeting by the wait staff set the tone. The food was delicious and service was great. For the older citizen I can thoroughly recommend the "seniors" seafood pie meal at just $12.50. We just spent the weekend visiting the beautiful Gippsland region and booked in for dinner on a Saturday night, with the family at the recommendation of friends.We certainly weren't disappointed - one of the best pub meals I have enjoyed in a very long time. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable on local produce and even suggested some local attractions suitable for 4 kids. Will definitely be returning when next back in the area.

We have driven past so many times but this time we finally went in with are family of 6. I can't believe all this time I had no idea what it was like !!!! Great food, great staff, we had an excellent time and can't wait to come back. We will defiantly be stopping every time we go to lakes. Well done Central Hotel hats of to you !!! A delightful place to eat, views are beautiful of the trawlers coming in and out of the bay and the food was absolutely beautiful, couldn't fault it, only downside is that you have to go and order your drinks from the bar, no table service of alcohol.

Wife & I went for lunch. Soup was homemade, very filling & was nice & hot on a very cold day. My wife had pizza, & whilst not up to DOC standards it was pretty good for a home made pub pizza

The Central hotel is a great stop for a pub meal. Infact the quality is better than most pub meals. The hotel has improved the food quality greatly!

The local fish and scallops were very good. Staff were pleasant and when the desired dessert was unavailable, most apologetic.
