My wife, two of our closest friends, and I have dined at the Centre Bridge Inn at least 8 times over the past few years. We dined there last night and were disappointed to find that, although this restaurant has always been expensive, the quality of the food and overall value has significantly decreased. The last time we had visited before last night was in May of 2008, and the food had been excellent. We inquired about a change in chefs, and were informed that there had been a change about a year ago, which coincided with our last visit. Our disappointment began with the gulf shrimp appetizers, which consisted of only 5 shrimp the size of my thumb. The soups were overly spicy and not enjoyable. I ordered a NY Strip steak which was of poor quality and covered in a sauce that was unpleasant. Our friends ordered pork, which was also a small portion and not very flavorful. We voiced our displeasure to the waitress, and were given complimentary desserts, which were also disappointing, along with cold coffee. Thankfully, both the desserts and coffee were small portions. Overall, our dining experience was far from satisfying, and we will not be returning unless we hear of a change in the chef.
