For all that is going on in the world it is great to see that Cruz Blanca has managed to open on a Saturday and Sunday each week. For some this might seem like a small concession but let’s face it, times are tough for bars and restaurants. We were delighted to walk here this afternoon and enjoy a couple of drinks and a few tapas in the outside air. It was as usual busy with Spanish families and friends enjoying the late sun and good food. Life is good here in Spain.
So we are sitting in Cruz Blanca, surrounded by Spanish voices, families enjoying a relaxing afternoon. The food is excellent, prices are very reasonable and I wonder why this place is not busier than it should be. I am now convinced that this is a place that visitors to this area can’t find or can’t be bothered trying. I find this quite absurd, this is one of our favourite places to drink and eat, well I suppose some of the best things are kept secret.
As said by others, the location away from the seafront means the clientele are largely Spanish but the menu is still with English. Somewhere where olives and bread on the table are complementary. Good traditional tapas and raciones at very reasonable prices. Enter the bar from Calle Mijas and outdoor tables in a small quiet square are just beyond (but you won’t get a seaview like the one shown in error with this listing).
The locals know a good thing for sure. We have been eating her for years and really love the setting. The bar area inside is full of character and you can examine closely the full range of tapas available. There is also an outside seating area which actually is adjacent to a car park but this does not detract from the experience and enjoyment this spot offers. Buenísimo ambiente, comida excelente y el trato impecable , acabamos de comer pulpo a la gallega , ensaladilla rusa , calamares fritos y arroz negro , todo exquisito , han tenido el detalle de darle un plato con chuches a mi hija. Trato de 10, recomiendo llamar para reservar , es un acierto seguro tanto por la comida como por la amabilidad de los camareros.
Nunca defrauda, volvemos a repetir a menudo y siempre sigue en su línea, la comida espectacular (pida lo que pida), el servicio es impecable y el trato excelente; y el lugar maravilloso y acogedor, siempre con muy buen ambiente.
