Saturday lunch, not very busy but still a great experience in this authentic place in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by cows and pigs. Once you get in, it's warm, cozy (try to sit in kitchen) and staff is very welcoming. But wait till you receive your Croute au fromage. Never had one like this before, offered in 3 sizes, did the mistake to take medium royal after a cold plate as an appetizer. Medium is still big! On top of the slice of bread lay ham if wanted , a thick layer of cheese soufflé, excellent by the way and the royal egg! The souffle makes it lighter... If can be and original !

The crust is still just as good, even if a little runnier than usual. A few small adjustments still to be made in the service for communication with the kitchen. We ordered a plate of dried meat and a bottle of white wine for an aperitif, but didn't have time to finish as the crusts were already there. Too bad, we probably would have had time to order a second one.

Personally, I have known this chalet forever. The cheese crusts are excellent, especially the imperial which is not on the menu. Make the request.... And add a cream meringue and everything is perfect. Just be careful when choosing the size. 2023, change of tenants. Young people are almost perfect. Always good and the staff is super friendly.

If you like to eat dissociated then this is the right place. When you cut the royal cheese crust nothing sticks to the bread, so you end up with ham and cheese and the slice of bread not even colored by the pan. Too bad the boss doesn't like exchanges.
