It's a very good Vietnamese restaurant in Appenzell. Who would've thought you'll find a very decent Vietnamese restaurant here in the mountain region in Switzerland, but I'm glad we did--a little off the beaten path. Service was excellent. A young waitperson promptly showed up at our street side table and start talking to us. After finding very quickly we preferred English menu, he went back to get a couple of them for us. Drinks orders were taken, and by the time they were delivered to our table, we were ready to give him our choices of food. Food...my Phở Bò was very good. Beef was a little tougher than what I'm used to in the US, but I'm used to well-done beef served in Germany. Broth may...
We went to Chanh for lunch. My son had the dish of the day, a curry with rice, which was fine. I ordered the Pho Bo, longing for good Vietnamese food. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment, tasting nothing like Pho but rather like a bad generic broth. I shared the feedback politely but the staff did not seem to care much. I would not come back.
Best Asian food. And the owners are the most amazing people. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Delicious dishes and large portions. Very good prices. Looking forward to go again. I highly recommend it.
