I’ve been to all the “top” BBQ restaurants in KC and by far my all time favorite is Char Bar. At our most recent visit we were greeted promptly and our server was very friendly and attentive. We’ve tried many items on the menu but this time went with the Whomp platter. Everything was delicious especially the ribs and burnt ends. This establishment has the best bbq chicken wings!!! I’ve been here a total of three times and the first 2 times the food was amazing as well as the customer service. The 3rd time I went here I ordered take out and the food was questionable. The ribs were great as always but I really came for the chicken and it was sadly over cooked, dry and hard. The atmosphere, staff, and of course the food, was AWESOME! Definitely more of a date nite or work meeting type of BBQ setting which is great. However, for the price, I don’t feel like to get much for your money. A coworker and I shared the pick 3, but one person alone could finish it if they’re hungry lol. It was also my first time experiencing actual fried pickles and they were HUGE and very good. Overall the environment and quality of food was definitely worth it.
WOW!!! We just had lunch with friends and we were blown away. Hush puppies for an appetizer was a great way to start our meal. The Burnt Heaven sandwich and the Triple Crown sandwich were incredible. The combination of meats and flavors made these sandwich’s unique. An unforgettable meal, we’ll be back soon and often.
