An early Mother’s Day meal was had last night at the Charles Dickens. There was a lively crowd and we enjoyed a fantastic meal!! I had the Liver and Onions with broccoli, brussels sprouts and carrots with mashed potatoes and my hubby had the Hot Roast Beef on garlic toast with onions and peas and fries. DELICIOUS and no room for dessert unfortunately. So happy to know the lockdown didn’t destroy this wonderful business!
Welcoming and attentive service. My friend has the Chicken wrap which was huge and delicious. I had the Roast Beef Yorkshire Pudding. Again a very generous portion of which I also took half home. I woud rate it as okay due to the Yorkshire being very soggy and lacking taste. While I would not order that again, I found the Pub to have a lovely atmosphere nd Charming. Definitely would try this Pub again. Cheers!
that was our first time in her pub. my wife came into her earlier, but I've never been. first we were hit by our amazing server holly, she was so personal and friendly. second, the eating was the heavens. the buffalo packaging and the club were delicious. We've separated ourselves so we've both tasted. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We will definitely come back.
I ate here tonight. 3 of us ordered the roast and yorkshire pudding. I was terrible. looks and tasted as if the whole meal were old rests they had microwaves. completely tasteless was bark hard and dry. the best part was the heavy one. it was the only part that had taste. will not go back.
on Monday sat on the thickens and ordered the 2 can fish and chips special with a side of the muddy. Eating was great, service was good and gloomy was delicious. had the deep fried mars bar, highly recommended. great place to eat in holzstock and support the local businesses.
Had supper at this pub. Our waitress, Myra, is always a riot. Her table side manner suits the atmosphere to a tee. Food was great, portions were good and price was reasonable considering new pandemic pricing. Will definitely go back and would highly recommend. CHEERS!
