Ok, I accept it's January and it's the middle of the week, but the place is an absolute dive! It's seen better days, not sure when but I want to have a small positive thing to say. We arrived at lunch time disappointed that the nearby Elvis Rocks Cafe has closed down. Except for two others we were the only people in there. I think the owners are hoarders. At least a 1/4 of the tables and desks were strewn with paperwork (perhaps end of year taxes?). There are hand written signs everywhere directing you to washrooms, saying that you have to buy something if you want to use the washroom! Don't waste your money, I've seen better BC parks "hole in the grounds" better maintained! Food, my wife had the Fish and Chips (Jnr portion) and she said it was Ok. Deep fried you can't go wrong. I had the big breakfast: scrambled egg, 5 bacon, toast and hash browns. Not sure how the scrambled egg was cooked it didn't look appetizing. The bacon looked like it had been deep fried and the hash browns were potato chunks. Now I really have no idea what "spread" they put on the toast but it made the bread soggy and it tasted awful! So bad I actually felt sick in my stomach. It was a lovely day out on a warm sunny winters day drive out to Boston Bar - won't be stopping in future.

Ate here on a recent road trip from Kamloops to Vancouver. The server, insisted that he could serve beer but not cider. A first for me in a licensed restaurant but maybe correct. As most of the staff were Asian I opted for a noodle dish which was probably the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. That's after living and working in Asia for eight years and eaten just about everywhere from a street side cart to the finest restaurants. Simply awful! Maybe I was just out of luck on the day but my friends burgers were not good either, so maybe not.Unless you are really hungry, I would suggest eating before, or after, Boston Bar although there is another eatery in town which looks like it might be worth a visit. For me, that could be some time away!

I have frequented this Hotel a few times. Although it is dated in appearance, which is not a bad thing, I found the food and staff very nice and pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and clean. If you can imagine being in a 60' - 70's era then, this is an interesting place to stay. Sometimes it is just nice to get out of the city and explore a small town atmosphere! I would definitely go back! You have to try their War Wonton soup.. it is to die for!
