Tonight was date night and Charlie G's was a great pick. Low light atmosphere at the bar, as there were no seats available otherwise. Hubby had to use the phone to see the menu. The service is spectacular, very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The gumbo had the dark color we look for and was very filling. The tuna tartar was very fresh, nestled over a bed of seaweed salad. I am very picky when it comes to risotto, and I must say the wood grilled gulf shrimp, roasted butternut squash, lemon and parmesan risotto was worth getting again. My husband and I went to Charley G's for the first time for date night. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The staff was so pleasant and informative, very professional. Charley G's is an extremely elegant and romantic restaurant. The only thing I had a personal challenge with was the menu. It is very elevated; I am not used to such an upscale menu. Every dish was unique and there were many things I had never heard of, like Drum fish, escargot, etc. The best thing we ate was the crabcake appetizer. It was amazing! Charley G's consistently delivers the best dining experience in Lafayette. The service is always excellent, the food is delightful, and the atmosphere is just right for a special evening out. Since it opened its doors in 1985, it has been — and continues to be — our favorite spot in Lafayette. Few restaurants can withstand the test of time like this one!

The food, service, and overall experience were truly exceptional. We casually mentioned that it was our anniversary, and the staff went above and beyond to create a gorgeous dessert with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. We definitely plan to come back! Réservez une table maintenant

I have dined here several times, but for some reason, my most recent experience was not ideal. The food was just average, and the service was minimal at best. Considering the many options in Lafayette, I'll probably think twice before coming back.

If someone claims they visited Charley G's and didn't find everything absolutely amazing, they aren't telling the truth. There are only five stars available for ratings, but this place deserves ten. It's a PERFECT 10!
