Set reservation for our 40th anniversary one month out at Stars. Email received day before notes dress code. Arrival find out restaurant closed for month and a half (still taking reservations) given two ‘options’ Outside on veranda, 61 degrees, 20 mph wind and oh yea, it’s raining too or inside in a crowded tavern full of noise, jeans for dress code and 20-30 kids. After a 10 minute wait, table given us is a little bigger than a large pizza pan. Hostess very indifferent to situation, no explanation as to why taking reservations for a closed restaurant. We got up and left. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
scenery and experience are beautiful. we had to sit outside the barroom after staying, we were for a date/placement. we said that she had to check with her manager who sits at a better place and then 3 other parties experienced the same. they do not sit there. eating was good - not 5 stars worthy. the lobster as part of the mosquito bakery was warm and something tasty dessert were excellent! overall, if after a nice night on the water in chatham with a good bar stick at the drinks here and get a better lobster for way less money elsewhere.
The clambake buffet has a great variety. The chilled table had great selections. To bad the Chatham oysters are so small. The salads were wonderful. The clam chowder good, but not as good as Squires. Order the Lobstah if you are a Lobstah person well prepared. Not a date night location in the summer as very busy. The views over the beach is wonderful. One safety note more foot lighting needed from the deck to your car.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness!! From the parking attendants, hostess, bartenders, and waiter!! Food was plentiful and delicious! The variety seemed endless and we tried just about everything!! You can’t beat the view either- it is priceless! Thank you CBI Beach House for creating another spectacular summer memory:

Stars is closed and is a breakfast room. We were sat inthe sacred cod bar room. No reservations needed. No jackets needed because it is the hotel bar. We were misled to expect an elegant adult’s dinner. Kids everywhere plenty of seats. Server spoke poor English. You would have to be chump to go here.
beautiful ambiente, beautiful presentation, waitress was great, only complaining is that maybe add a few more summer salads or something for ppl that don't want a most seafood menu.
The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. The service was very good. The buffet food is also very good. It’s pricey for what you get, but it was a nice evening.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere—especially if you choose to dine indoors.
