Even though there were no other customers, I found myself waiting about 10 minutes because they were training a new employee. I watched as he made my drink, and just before sealing it, I asked if it was mine. When he confirmed it was, I pointed out that the cup was filled with ice, which went against my request for less. Instead of addressing my concern, he ignored me and sealed the cup. When I insisted that he reopen it and remove some ice, he refused, claiming they were following "corporate policy." I was frustrated and explained that, as a customer, I should receive my drink the way I want it. However, he repeated his refusal. In the end, I chose to leave the shop without taking the drin...
The restaurant is located in a fantastic spot, but unfortunately, the staff doesn’t seem to take pleasure in their work. For the past two years, there has always been an excuse for why they can’t make slushes or smoothies. Today it was because of an ice shortage; the last time, they claimed the blender was broken, and prior to that, they said they were just too busy to prepare them. These excuses reveal a deeper issue with their service. As a chain, Chatime should be able to offer their full range of products, yet they consistently fail to do so. Additionally, the staff often appears distracted by their phones, which only hinders the overall efficiency.
The drinks are fantastic, but the customer service really needs improvement. The staff tends to be unfriendly, inattentive, and overall unprofessional. They frequently engage in loud conversations and laughter amongst themselves, ignoring customers who are waiting for help. Whenever I ask a straightforward question, the response is often rude. If you want to avoid this sort of experience, I recommend checking out Kung Fu Tea nearby instead!
For instance, I specifically asked for my drink without ice, but it came with ice anyway. I also requested pearls in my milk tea, and they were missing. The service was simply unacceptable—definitely a 0/10. All I'm asking is for staff to take out their headphones when interacting with customers and put them back in afterward.
