However, for a while now this place has been on my radar and a series of events (such as date night coinciding with the store 's late hours allowed us to come here and explore their offerings. It is a small shop, located on Delaware Ave. in a set of stores that is easy to miss if you don 't have a smart phone or a very observant wife/navigator! With a cheese connoisseur for a dad, I found this place and thought it was a must. It's a hole in the wall but arranged beautifully with cheeses, dried meats, drinks, sweets, and what felt like one-of-a-kind items. They offered a variety of cheeses and the attendant was incredibly knowledgable. They make pressed sandwiches, which we all ordered. When we visited, there was no place to sit inside but with a decent drive home, we sat in the parking lot to save the integrity of the food. My husband decided to bring me here as a fun date night. We talked to Mary who was friendly and knowledgeable. After sampling some cheeses she helped us curate a dinner box with 4 cheeses, 2 meats and our choice of crackers or bread. We opted for black pepper water crackers which were very good.. The rest of the box was filled with an assortment of fruit, jam, nuts, cornishons, chocolate, and a honey stick. We needed a rush order on a Tuesday afternoon with delivery before 6 pm, and the wonderful woman, Becky, on the phone accommodated us with patience, efficiency, and artistry within the hour. She herself delivered a platter of assorted and tasty cheeses and charcuterie in a beautiful presentation that was so tasteful that the recipients, who were sitting Shiva for a beloved relative, were actually moved at its arrival. There is something to be said for having a cheese monger close by in the city within which you live. The cheese traveler absolutely foots that bill with their vast knowledge and immense special interest in Jesus from far and wide. They have every sort of cheese I can imagine from creamy buttery brie, to deliciously Sharp and spicy cheddars. I will continue to come to the cheese traveler so long as they are open for all of my cheese needs.
Fantastic! They offer a great variety of artisanal cheeses and unique meat selections. There's plenty of parking available for the store, too.
