Have enjoyed many dinners at Chef Hannes, decor is lacking but we like sitting on the sidewalk. Woefully understaffed and for a place with Chef in the name you think the atmosphere would be more food centered. Every visit we have only seen a lone table waiter, not sure what is in back. On one visit early in the summer we had a server named Emily who was personable, professional, and brought a delightful spirit to the place. Maybe she was too qualified to stay. Last night we had to endure this young dolt of a waiter that has no idea what is doing or why he is there. Absolutely fantastic pomodoro and meatball special! The food is of excellent quality and offers great value for your money. We also enjoyed the fresh apple strudel and blueberry pie for dessert. The selection of beer and wine is superb, and the service was top-notch. This is exactly how a restaurant should be, and it showcases Italian cuisine at its finest. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, not crowded or noisy, which is perfect. I would give it 15 stars! Highly recommend!

Food was fantastic. However the inside might need to be revamped a little. To me once you walk inside there's a musty smell? Don't really know how to describe it. Maybe from all the wood decor? Waiter was nice but spoke in a monotone voice. But overall food was excellent!

We were warmly welcomed by the manager and seated at a table beneath their tent, which provided a nice amount of shelter and made for a comfortable dining experience. The food arrived hot and was incredibly delicious. Overall, it was a delightful experience!

Charming neighborhood restaurant in downtown El Segundo. The food was excellent, and the wine selection was impressive. You couldn't ask for more in an outdoor dining experience.
