we had difficulty finding a place to lunch because we are not out of the opposite and we hoped to find a "hole in the wall" restaurant. we decided to give this place a shot, and it was well oriented because we left completely and satisfied. great and friendly service! we were often checked and we were asked to feel welcome. the food was so beautiful and delicious presented! wife and I visited from the city and on recommendation went here on Friday at 12:15 o'clock to lunch and had a pleasant lunch with good food. we ordered the classic gumbo and the Mega-Gumbo together with the fried Boudin balls. Definitely a spot for locals. My friends who live in New Orleans took us here, and it was fantastic: very kind staff, cute interior, great customer service, and DELICIOUS food. Everyone dining here was a local, present for a casual meal. At first, the food seemed a bit pricey for how casual the establishment was, but it was definitely worth it. Portion control!! Wow. Huge portions. The spaghetti and chicken tenders are kids meals. The shrimp poboy was fresh and delicious. Gumbo was a little spicy hot for my wife but she enjoyed it for sure. Super friendly. Melba is very attentive and accommodating. Great little spot. This is where I need a 4.5 rating.
Chef Ron's was our first stop in NOLA and the amazing gumbo and jambalaya here made us even more excited about our trip! You can tell by the dollars decorating the wall that customers around the world truly love this local spot. Warm and welcoming staff make this restaurant one of the best.
Chef Ron is able to highlight the uniqueness of each of the Cajun and Creole dishes. I was afraid they would taste same-y . Everything was spectacular. When the crab cakes are the least popular item at the table (still very tasty), you know you have found some serious eats.
