if they stop at this place, it is hard to see. they must go up the steps to get there, and it is embedded between other restaurants that have a more prominent presence on macarthur boulevard. Moreover, there is another Asian restaurant just a jump on the same side of the road on the same block that many people tend to often over chen’s. we visited the family in dc for 10 days and on the day 3 we ordered a huge vegetarian meal of chen’s. in the following days, our flesh-eating elders demanded another order, so that we had another great one. what a joy and a tasty bite this place is some of the best fake meat I have ever had (and for 30 years veg, that says a lot). it is fresh, it is alive, it is lovely. The food at this restaurant lacks flavor and seasoning. I was shocked to see they were serving undercooked wings. When I mentioned they were not done, the server insisted they had been cooked for 16 minutes. I suggested they cook them longer, as they were still white and seemed too fresh. The lo mein I ordered had no sauce and was terrible. Overall, I would rate this experience 1 star if possible.
I highly recommend Chen's Gourmet. I ordered an item from their menu that I wanted to exchange because it tasted like peanuts. Not only did they allow me to keep the original dish, but they also provided a replacement. I rarely experience this level of customer service these days, and I sincerely appreciate it. The food was also delicious. Chen's Gourmet has earned my loyalty.

sweet are fresh and perfectly cooked. owners cook, wife and other employees are all great. ask them if they have special greens, but don't take mine as I once a week. a company with only one table inside and three outside. the green beans, tofu/mixed vegetables and fake vegi chicken with brokkoli are excellent. I ask for soft tofu instead of deep roasted.

there are not many Chinese or other restaurants with mock meat in the environment. this restaurant has made some delicious vegan medite at the place.
Tempura vegetables have very heavy flour covering, old recipe was very light.Pork Pejing very fatty! Cut out the fat!
