We went to Madeleine for a random dinner on Saturday to try their French cuisine. Luckily we had no waiting time, there were only enough tables to sit two. The restaurant was packed in total. It's pretty old-fashioned city house style inside, but it's a beautiful bar and some really beautiful interior with French touch. You have a fairly decent long menu with different dishes, including many drinks options. We really liked the wine proposal of the mosquito. Eating, we started with the mussels and scallops, both excellent, but scallops was over good, loved the sauce in it. We have the calves liver and branzino for duck. The food is excellent as the service and the ambience. If you are looking for delicious French cuisine in Bergen County, this is the place for you. Each taste can be tasted separately, but the combination of flavors makes the dish alive. For apps we ordered Mussels , Escargots (sautéed with garlic herbs butter), Foie Gras (sautéed with sherry over confit of Onions and dry fruits in port wine). For Entree we ordered Filet mignon au Show with onion rings (deglazed cognac sauce), beef bourguignon (burgundy wine with mushroom, bacon, onions, crumbs over potatoes. and Capellini ratatouille. I was eyeing this place for quite some time and I'm glad we finally tried it a couple of weeks ago. A very homey place but the food is of high quality. We got escargot, pork medallions, rack of lamb and chocolate souffle. Also, the cocktails are worth it. We'll definitely come back to taste the rest of the menu.
First of all, make sure to order the chocolate buffer bakery at the beginning of the meal so that they have it ready for your dessert. The Eskargot was great! The duck al orange was great! What a fun place to eat and love art on the terrace. Definitely put Madeleine on your list and din.
