Chez Marie Du Rosay

Chez Marie is unusual on the slopes of Megeve as it is self-service, serves good food and is reasonably priced all things being relative in Megeve). We stopped for a light lunch and had toasted panini-style sandwiches and crepes which we ordered from the cabin that stands outside the main restaurant. These were delivered to our table along with our drinks. Very helpful and friendly staff. The food was simple but of good quality. The restaurant sometimes attracts criticism for apparently charging for the use if its toilets. This does not apply to patrons, ask for a 'jeton ' at the till. Situated near to the bottom of the Mont Joux lifts, it has lovely mountain views, large terrace and is worth a visit if you want a quick and simple lunch that doesn 't break the bank.

For a self service alpine restaurant, the choice and quality is very good. Pay attention to the plat du jour we went for it and had a remarkable thin pork fillet with chimichurri and melting ratatouille. Our boys had pasta carbonara at 10E. There was an excellent choice of salads, accompaniments and dessert. This is well situated between the fast and slow Mont Joux chair lifts, with an impressive view. Also a shack for snacks if you don't want the restaurant. A great option if you don't have a lunch reservation anywhere and happy to self serve.

We ate here on one of the sunny days in March 2018. The service at the counter was dire and soooo slow when I commented on it, the reply was 'a lot of people today '. Yup, sun, snow equal a lot of skiers, so why so few staff? Food was ok but some items were sold out. Prices were high for an ordinary meal, even in Megeve. A éviter

This restaurant is so cute the location is perfect! Lovely staff and atmosphere and there it’s really good choice of food. Had such a nice family lunch definitely recommend!

Un bon endroit pour faire une pause entre deux pistes. Un peu cher, mais ma nourriture est bonne.
