The service at Chicken Chef really varies but usually it borders on awful. I can't remember the last time I was greeted warmly. I think the staff at this establishment think they are doing Sioux Lookout a favour by being in business. I visited Chicken...Chef a year ago and I waiting 45 minutes to be asked for the first time if I wanted anything to eat. One has to ask themselves why I'd be in a restaurant if I didn't want something to eat. In any event, I stayed away from Chicken Chef for a nearly a year before I returned (limited choices in Sioux Lookout). Upon my return, not much has changed. The wait staff still don't seem to want to be there. The food is still very marginal....and I still...
I dined at this simple restaurant twice for lunch, trying the chicken and lasagna. The staff was friendly and the food was good for a quick meal. It's the best spot in Sioux...Lookout for fried chicken, but I found the overall meal to be average. The chicken was overly salty and the garlic toast that came with the lasagna was unexciting. However, in this northern area, choices are limited. If you're a fan of fried chicken, this is a good place to grab lunch!
Today, my wife, her coworker, and I had a delightful lunch at a restaurant. The hostess was incredibly helpful and our food was deliciously presented. She was able to answer all of our questions about the menu, as there was some information missing. The portions were generous and we left feeling satisfied. This restaurant never fails to provide a great dining experience for us.
While in Sioux Lookout for business, I attended the Chicken Chef for lunch one day. The restaurant was very busy but we had no problem getting seated. The waitress was great and the service was very good too. My two friends and I ordered different...meals and I would rate them all as just average restaurant fare, good for a business lunch. Chicken Chef offers a much better fried chicken experience compared to other restaurants. The service was friendly, and the chicken was crispy, well-seasoned, and not greasy. The fries were cooked perfectly, and the waitress was very pleasant. You can request their hot sauce to accompany your chicken, which is authentic and delicious.
