The pub has a lovely local country pub feel and is in a great location. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly and the staff are always happy to help. We visited here as a family today and the food was lovely as always. We...will definetly be back soon. We are lucky to have such a lovely pub on our doorstep. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone for both food and drinks.
What a fantastic day we have had today, meeting up with family we have not seen for so long and in the most perfect location. Thank you so much to Ian Laura for looking after us so well you are so lovely We...all have different dietary requirements and they were all met, the food was spot on as always and would recommend to all who visit the village.
Can't praise the staff an food enough go above an beyond on every visit. Great value for money on the lite bites menu if you haven't a large appetite. Decor is quirky always clean I would highly recommend if your exploring the aera or if...you don't want to pay airport price for a below standard meal, call in on your way you will not be disappointed.
We're regular visitors to the Childe of Hale. You are always guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome from Ian and his team. The food was exceptional as always and is excellent value for money. I enjoyed a terrific Sunday Roast and my wife enjoyed one...of the new vegetarian options. Perfect way to end the weekend . We'll be back. Réservez une table maintenant
We'd not been to the Childe of Hale for some time with pandemic and various other reasons but was like returning home' last night. Fabulous food, wonderful service, Ian, our main man as usual went above and beyond. Great fun for my 60th, sorry the...candles burnt your fingers Ian you are a trooper though
we had a nice lunch today for 18 people from halewood. the members have met various menu choices, but all were satisfied with their eating and enjoyed the atmosphere of this house. we were very appalled by donna and ian and will certainly return. next time we eat after our game session.
Grubby tables and surfaces, gents loo, smelly and grubby. Disabled toilet, no paper, dryer not working, Asked for a latte coffee, paid full price, got a sachet tipped into a glass. A closer look reveals not very hygienic.. staff pleasant enough.

after a good local walk on a beautiful sunny day sitting outside with a drink and a meal here was perfection. good simple pub food to very good trips. great staff. really good again.
