We called just after 5 on a Thursday afternoon, so we expected some wait time, but when we were told it would be 60-65 minutes, my sister was surprised. However, we were not in a rush, so it was manageable. When I arrived at 6:10, I had to wait in a cramped area with other customers for about ten minutes before receiving my order and making payment. The fried rice that came with our meal was plain and lacked any vegetables. It was tasty, but I was expecting some added ingredients, such as vegetables. I ordered takeout from this restaurant. The fried rice was simply rice with soy sauce, no vegetables included. The egg rolls and spring rolls contained only lettuce, lacking other ingredients. The fried dumplings were the standout item, flavorful and enjoyable. The chicken chow mein appeared appetizing, but lacked taste. Overall, a very disappointing experience and I do not plan to return. I ordered dumplings and asked if there was dipping sauce, the gentleman said yes, but when I got home there was no sauce. Make sure you check you order before you leave. Placed order for pickup. 50 minute wait. Items missing. Went back to restaurant and had to wait additional 40 minutes for a small Shrimp Lo Mien. The Chinese cuisine at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. When I called to place our order yesterday, the person who answered was very polite and didn't rush me to order. She even provided me with an estimated pick-up time and the total cost of my order without me having to ask. The ambiance of the restaurant was just as I remembered it.
In my opinion, the best place to get Chinese food in this area is China Express. The food is consistently delicious and the staff are very friendly, even when they are busy. We always get takeout from here (I don't think they have reopened for dining in since Covid). Our favorite dishes are the hot and sour soup and the dumplings.
