We are gathered together from all parts of the world--United States, Canada, Taiwan, Mainland China and locals. All because we wanted to share a delicious and authentic Chinese dinner. With twelve people we were ushered into a VIP area where we can chat with reasonable privacy.We were thinking of having chop suey or fast food like fusion meals. Since we never heard of this new restaurant, we wanted to visit the other place in town (Chinabrenner), but they were closed that day. Which turned out to be great, since Chinas Welt has perfectly tasty food, too. The two of us ordered five appetizers and only one main dish since the friendly waiter told us, it would be enough. He was right, we had to take 50% of the food home after being totally full and unable to move. The one main dish could easily serve two and two cold appetizers are enough to fill one stomach (together with rice). This is not to say they should serve smaller portions, though. Leipzig's Asian restaurants aren't that great, by and large, since dishes are more often than not adapted to local tastes. At this restaurant however, they really do go the mile: while on the one hand the decor is elegant and suitable for Western diners, the food is really authentic. The shiu mai I had was delectable, where I tasted the pork, and all the different spices; and the ma po to fu arrived in a huge boat, tofu and pork mince floating on a rich bed of chilli oil, topped with scallions -- it is as good as any I have had in the best restaurants worldwide. The food serve here are mainly Chinese Beijing dishes and they taste authentic.We had some "cold" preserved dishes for appetizer, which was fresh and tasted good. The pork dumpling was very good as the meat filling was soft and tasty.We ordered fried duck, fried vegetables and boiled beef for our main dish. They flavor of the dishes were just right as they were not too salty or oily.Overall, the quality and taste of the food is good.

This restaurant is a pearl surrounded by pretty ugly buildings, but don't be put off ,the restaurant is lovely lots of space and very clean. Some of our ladies are Chinese and were amazed how good the food was. Beautifully presented dishes. The service very friendly . This will definatly not be my last visit to "Chinas Welt"
I was there 3 times already with friends for dinner. Their food are just simply the best. We always order stir-fried eggplant in chili paste, big fish in chili soup and duck. The rice is also refilled. The service is great. The price is a bit expensive but with this quality, I would go back there any time!
was in leipzig for work for a couple of days and was pleasantly surprised to find a fairly authentic chinese restaurant serving hunan dishes. most of the dishes did not disappoint and were not watered down to suit western palettes. would definitely consider coming here again!
This place is my sis and her friends' favorite, so we went here for dinner when I visited Leipzig. The food was nice, some are salty but overall it's a great experience! We even had a crab here :-) And it's not expensive at all! Love it!

Best Chinese food I've had in a long time. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back next time I'm in town :) Super leckeres Essen, tolles und sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr sehr empfehlenswert!
