Chives Canadian Bistro

We had supper here last night and I don't think we have ever had something so delicious!!!! The atmosphere was amazing. The decor is so beautiful and it has a really cosy feel despite the fact that the place was packed. Surprisingly with it being so busy our waitress Hannah 90% percent sure of the name was AMAZING. She checked on us and did a great job at making us feel like we were her top priority and impressed me when she jokingly scolded my hubby for not eating his veggies which I have been doing for years . To top it all off the food was amazing, and the wait was not long at all. We will for sure come back when in the area! Thanks for a great experience Chives! Becky and Bobby

Just came back from supper at Chives. Started off with an Atlantic Storm cocktail, then moved on to the charcuterie plate. absolutely delicious. I got the heritage pork of the day which was the most perfectly cooked pork tenderloin I have ever had, coupled with a quark ravioli, seasonal veg, and a glorious morel mushroom sauce. My husband had the beef Wellington and was equally pleased. Service was great, too. Thank you!

Tremendous meal. Went with an appetizer of seared scallops with pork belly the scallops were perfectly prepared and the pork belly was delicious. Main course of Lamb Wellington was likewise delicious, combined with the sweet potatoes puree on the plate. Dessert was a Sticky Toffee Pudding, with poached pears and vanilla ice cream; again, perfectly executed. Service was also very efficient. Highly recommend this place.

When you find a restaurant whose meal makes you go silent because the explosion of flavour is unlike anything your palette has ever experienced, then you know you've found the one. Everything was absolutely beautiful. The meat was succulent, the vegetables were aromatic, and the cocktails were amazing. Also loved getting scones and molasses rather than bread at the start. Incredible food and even more incredible service. Everything was yummy and surprisingly filling. We saved just enough room to share a blueberry lemon panna cotta and a strawberry tart with ice cream...so yummy! Must eat here when you're in Halifax!

Best restaurant in Halifax. We frequently come for our anniversary and reserve the private vault room. The food is always incredible and the staff is beyond amazing. I also love how the menu changes each season. So much variety!

Great atmosphere. Clam chowder is a must. Food is top notch. Service was good, pace a little slower than I like, but all in all good Réservez une table maintenant

5 stars is a no-brainer - Service is excellent - Small, intimate restaurant - One of the best wine lists we saw in Canada.

4-4.5 stars. Their website says newly renovated and it looks quite lovely.
