Drove all the way from the Gold Coast to Ikea for a few hours of Scandi-cool window shopping in May. At lunchtime, was so desperate for food with some Oomph that we Googled anything nearby with good reviews and a cheapo quick lunch. I mean; what are the options up there in Suburbia? 6 minutes drive from Ikea on the other side of the highway, but a world away from Salmon fillets and Swedish Meatballs is Chompers Chippery and Takeaway in small Daisy Hill Village. Decided to give this place a go for dinner one night for delivery. Never again!Order process was easy and the menu isn't bad but the food is terrible.We ordered a snapper meal and a burger meal. The delivery was an acceptable time but when we opened the bag, firstly the chips were missing. So I called up to speak to some obnoxious kid who yelled down the phone to the fryer or whatever and I was told to wait another hour for the fries...yeah right! Below average, and I just did not enjoy. The handcut chips tasted as if they had been cooked "WAY" too long. Crunchy yes, but dried out.We also got two potato scollops which I thought a place that did handcut chips would have handmade scollops... unfortunetly this as just a frozen processed one. Ive had better at a local football clubs game. We got two burgers with the first being the lean chicken. This was missing the avacado which was a shame.And I got the the beef one that has two beef patties... (2bacon, egg etc..)My dog ended up eating the beef, after a few bites it was dry and tasteless.The bacon looked and tasted like it had barley been put on the grill. I had my hopes up for a specia...

Have visited here a few times and it always fantastic. However today, the food was terrible. The "hand cut" chips tasted like you were just eating oil. Not sure if they were cooked way too long or the oil was old but they certainly didn't taste like chips. We exchanged them for regular chips while only slightly better they still tasted old and over cooked. The young lad who gave us out food was friendly but should have had his hair in a net or tied back. The girl who served us had waist length hair that was very straggly and not tied back either. Being around food this is disgustingly unhygienic. Probably won't be back. Réservez une table maintenant

I visit there every few weeks with mates and i have to say the service we receive there is complete hit and miss. One order out of four is ever right. The staff do not properly listen to your order, they nearly always forget something or they just make the order up as they go if you don't seem to order one of their meal deals with drink and chips. The burgers i have to say are pretty good but even if you spell out the order s l o w l y you'd be lucky if they get it right. Also hit and miss if their milkshake machine is working when you want it.

I went there with my son to grab some takeaway and this will probably be the last time.The food i believe was on the more expensive side and only average, certainly nothing i brought i would rush back for.I think the low point was the amount of people just walking in and walking straight between the counter, one even started preparing food without any apparent hygiene procedures being met!When preparing meals for sale hygiene should be the most focused point

Bought the family fish and chips for a Sunday lunch on the promise of hand cut chips, based on Heston Blumenthal's as advised on their site, we spent $20 on chips alone, once getting our lunch home all we had was the usual frozen chips deep fried three times, nothing that resembled a potato. I would suggest you update your site to remove all claims as there was nothing done by hand, deep fried garbage.

We took the kids for the all you can eat chicken nugget deal on Tuesday nights. They loved it. My calamari was average and the chips were over cooked. They have an interesting menu with a variety of burgers, including one burger that uses donuts instead of your standard bread roll. Try the deep fried Oreos. Basically just a fish and chip shop - both good and bad. Réservez une table maintenant

First time here yesterday and found it to be very satisfying, both in flavor and portion size. I had the basic burger and chips with drink at a very reasonable $12.50. The service was prompt and friendly and I found it a great little place for a quick bite.

Ordered grilled barra & chips for 2. I think the fish was steamed in foil not grilled. It was not very nice at all. Chips were lovely. Won't go back again.
