I have been visiting this restaurant a few times a year since they opened, and I have never once been disappointed. The food is always well prepared and fresh, nicely seasoned, and served in generous portions. The quality is exceptional, everything is delicious. It is a very modest restaurant though, do not expect anything very fancy, there probably won't even be any music playing. Been going here for years and years now. It is hard to find decent Afghani food this out East on Long Island but choopan has always been solid. One complaint is that the white sauce was very very vinegar heavy last time which is to me, what really enhances the meal. I got the chicken breast kebab and It is a solid portion with rice especially for the cost. Bang for your buck.

This restaurant is the real deal, authentic, its fully owned and run by an American/Afghani immigrant family. The atmosphere is relaxed, not dressy, the location is in a small shopping center. It might not look like it from first glance but here youll find the best Afghani food in New York. Everything we have eaten was amazing on every occasion. Réservez une table maintenant

This gem has been around for a very long time. The food is flavorful. The ambience is ethnic relaxing. We have ordered everything on the menu at least once so far have not been disappointed with anything.

Okay, food. It used to be good when Rafi was here. Most of them are dry. I liked her HOT wings, but they were really hot. New renovations gave a new view of the restaurant

Masha Allah. The food is always fresh tasty and delicious. I have only tried the rice dishes and they’re zabardast. Customer service is also good and nice.
