A limited wine list, white linen table cloths draped with butchers paper and the staff dressed in street clothes all suggest bipolar issues; is the restaurant Haut Monde or simple Chinese ocker style? Just returned from HongKong, hankering for authentic Cantonese style home cooking and usually we try Box Hill or Glenn Waverley. Sister in law recommended this one to be closer to home. For table of 13 it was a bit tightly packed but the service (friendly and efficient) certainly made up for it. The food was authentic, piping hot, meats tender and veggies done exactly how it should be for each dish. After waiting an hour for the take away order when told that it would be 20 minutes, and then being told that I was lying, I brought the food home to find a fly in the chicken sweet corn soup and hair in the vegetarian fried rice.I called to inform them of this and again, rather than be sympathetic, they were accusing me that this was not true!Overall, the service was terrible and the food was still in the containers because we couldn't eat it after there was a fly and hair in the meals.The whole situation was so badly managed that I will never go back there and will definitely be sharing this experience so others in our area dont experience what we did from the local Chinese restaurant.
Over many years my family, friends and I have been patronising Chun Po, enjoying the superb food and friendly service. Some of our favourite dishes - ones we have ordered again and again over the years and found the quality consistently good, include: Crisp-skinned Chicken, San Choi Bao, Spicy Deep-fried Garfish, Japanese Silken Tofu with Vegetables, Chicken with Fresh Chestnuts in Claypot, Whole Deep-fried Flounder, and my sister's favourite Whitebait Omelette. The menu is extensive, and I've never been disappointed by anything ordered. And we always appreciate the complimentary fresh fruit that is brought to the table with the bill!

I have dined in here once awhile back, ordered through Deliveroo a few times and also did take aways twice so far. I love the food at Chun Po, a large variety of dishes to choose from and they taste like authentic home cooked chinese dishes, very heartwarming. I love their fried rice and roast duck. The lady at the cashier who I presume is also the owner(?) is very friendly and always makes sure that customers are okay. Food is still warm and tastes good even if you order through delivery. My go to whenever I need my chinese fix but too lazy to cook.
We have been frequenting this little restaurant for quite a few years and I rate it as one the best in Melbourne for authentic style Cantonese cuisine. I have been to Hong Kong 2-3 times a year for the past 40 years and when eating at the Chun Po I could easily think I am sitting in a little restaurant in Kowloon. The food is fresh, piping hot and always tasty. The prawns in spicy salt are my favourite as is the Cantonese style beef on a sizzling plate.. Well worth the visit
We have been to this restaurant several times now and can fin no fault with the food it is always fast, fresh, hot and tasty! The service is also very good and attentive. The decor leaves a bit to be desired but we go for the food! We highly recommend this restaurant for good, delicious Malaysian food!
We ordered a great selection of take away Chinese food for 4. The food was fantastic and delivered hot and steaming by a nice gent who gave us a free bottle of soft drink! We paid by credit card. Easy transaction!

Looks can be deceptiveWe have had takeaway a couple of times from this place, and the flavours have been good and fresh.
Generally good value for take-away. Restaurant hasn't changed in style for years. Pretty cheap and cheerful.
