Was not aware that Gino had retired and restaurant now under new owners, with new name Ciao But honestly wish these guys all the success they deserve; if our meal experience last night was anything to go by. Fresh ingredients, put together to create amazing dishes, garlic mushrooms to die for every mouthful of fillet with delicious peppercorn sauce melted in the mouth AMAZING. Not busy, but atmosphere was relaxed with friendly prompt service, reasonably priced. liked fact that chief came out to speak with customers and offered to make anything off menu (provided ingredients avail) Would much prefer to wait a while and get totally fresh prepared cooked meal than have something pre cooked then...

this Italian restaurant is a rare sound. the quality of food, service and experience is consistently good. the food is prepared and freshly cooked, always served on hot plates. it tastes great and the menu has some old favorites as well as some interesting other dishes. the service is excellent, simone, is a attentive and welcoming member of the staff. from the moment they go in them are recognized, welcomed and for the rest of their time there they are well visited. Finally, I have already eaten some paints here and every time I can confirm this above is not one of, but consistently good. I often get food jealous of what other people have and I look forward to many more great meals in vivo!...

my son asked italian for his birthday meal and, oh my word, what a tasty it was! the food was from this world! beautifully presented and so delicious I wanted to enjoy it for the rest of the night. the staff was very friendly and welcoming, we did not feel hastily and allowed much time to choose our food and enjoy our night. the prizes are also very reasonable! thank you for making my birthday so special, he told all his friends how amazing it was. we will definitely come back as he said to try everything on the menu. I would give 20 stars if I could! edit: I have been back since Mother's Day and my birthday to try different dishes. it has not disappointed! great eating and very fast atmosph...

I recently dined at Ciao, formerly known as Gino's (located at the top of Albert Street), now under new ownership by Vittorio, who previously worked at Vivo. Vittorio has done an excellent job with the restaurant - the food was delicious and reasonably priced, the wine selection was great, and the staff were fantastic. The menu offers all the classic dishes you would expect. We originally planned to dine early at 6pm but ended up staying until after 9pm. Vittorio and his team were accommodating and I have no doubt that once the word spreads about this gem, the restaurant will be packed. Wishing them success and looking forward to returning soon. Read the good reviews so decided to book a table for a party of ten. Tried repeatedly for five days at different times of the morning, afternoon and evening to book a table. Phone just rings for ages then an answer machine says you cant leave a message. Drove past to check i had the right number yep same number as displayed on the front. One time the phone was answered and i was asked to call back later, which i tried again and again to no avail. Have instead booked Vivos down the road. Ciao if you are going to run a business at least answer your phone, or provide a proper answering machine service!

Popped in here after visiting Katie's Nails in Long Eaton. Didn't know what to expect as we had never tried the restaurant before. Long story short we were pleasantly surprised! Excellent on service, food and price! Carbonara made the real Italian way all cooked to order with fresh ingredients so the small wait was well worth it. We will definitely be returning and taking friends next time round. We live the other side of Nottingham so hope the locals pay them a visit, they won't be disappointed lovely homemade Tiramisu btw :

I visited Ciao on April 30th, formerly known as Gino's. I was initially nervous when I found out the name and ownership had changed, but I quickly realized there was no need to worry. The husband and wife team who now run the restaurant were very welcoming, and made our party of 8 feel right at home. The atmosphere, food, and service were all top-notch. I will definitely be returning, and I wish the couple all the best for the future. Réservez une table maintenant

My wife liked her meal, but mine was cold and not much better after reheating - dry pasta and overcooked ham. The portion was tiny, more like a starter than a main course. We won't be returning anytime soon.
