This place is located in a Strip Mall in the North West corner of the Cedar Valley Connector and Lougheed Hwy. Entrance is on the Cedar Valley Connector. There is parking right outside and near by.It has high ceilings, many large windows with natural light, all the chairs are comfortable and cozy AND they look good, wall colors are warm and well thought. In the summer chairs are placed outside and it is also great. There is a good choice of baked goods and of course a fantastic variety of coffee choices, chai, smoothies, teas or various kinds including herbal and caffeine free teas, pop. The owner in the last few years, Erin, is super friendly and with a very nice attitude to meet your needs...
I had never been to this coffee shop previously but was meeting a friend from out of town and happened upon it when searching for a coffee shop. The owners daughter was very friendly and helpful. The mocha I had was good but could have used a bit more flavour. I should have asked for some peppermint added in when ordering. The sweets they have although not plentiful look fresh and the brownie rocky road square I had was excellent. The table are not squished too close together so you are able to have a private conversation without the table next to you listening in.
My wife and I went to a restaurant to have coffee. I ordered an iced coffee and my wife ordered an americano. The americano tasted terrible, like the espresso shots had gone bad before they were mixed with water. The iced coffee was overly sweet and lacked a strong coffee flavor. When we arrived, the person at the counter was on their phone and we had to wait more than 5 minutes to place our order. We were disappointed with our experience and do not plan to return. It's unfortunate, as we wanted to support a local establishment.
This was the first coffee shop we visited when we moved to Mission area. I ordered a coffee and sat in a comfortable chair and looked around. What a comfortable, interesting cafe. The windows are large and clean, there is a fireplace in one corner, and magazines on the table to peruse. The seating is spaced out nicely and there are displays of various items, some related to homeopathic healing. In our next visits we tried the delicious home made soups and sandwiched made to order. Erin's positive energy is a bonus.
I enjoy meeting here as it is a quiet space if you pick the right day for a quiet chat while enjoying a beverage. I was surprised when I came in on a Thursday as a band was setting up. They offer a live band a couple days a week and the locals definitely enjoy it. The Tea is great and I love the different coffees they offer.
Their service is good albeit more often than I like the server's English is poor. I like that they place their drinks in a glass container over paper. Ambiance needs to have a theme, it has been mismatched and cafeteria style for a long time now. Their Green tea macha is great!
