City Market Bistro

What a stylish and inviting place this is! Located in downtown New Smyrna Beach right next to the Art HUB, this new gem certainly exceeded my expectations! The atmosphere is clean, fresh, and comfortable. As I stepped inside from the street into this chic space, I was greeted with a smile by the friendly and professional staff. I chose a seat at the retro bar counter and ordered the key lime dessert, which was absolutely amazing. The staff were very helpful when I asked about different menu items that piqued my interest for future visits, taking the time to provide detailed descriptions of the dishes. The chef, along with his dedicated team, clearly showcases a true passion for quality food...

The food was great, the service was great. What I don't appreciate is after paying the bill using a CC and leaving a cash tip, an employee added 20% more (tip? to the CC. That is credit card fraud and is a criminal act. Unfortunately the business is closed Sunday and I'm leaving town so I can't recoup the stolen funds. I won't be dining here anymore. UPDATE: The money taken has been returned... I'm going to chalk this incident up as a poor mistake and give this restaurant another chance.

Been there many times. Every time. Perfect. Every dish I've had is great. Fave is french onion soup. Not a fish filet fan but have loved every specialty dish I've tried with fish...3 times...swordfish, trout and I don't remember. I think a wahoo. The Brussel sprouts and asparagus are epic. Key lime parfait on point. Tiramisu when offered, perfect. Creme brulee perfect. Chef comes out and interacts when not preparing the amazing dishes he does. All servers have been phenomenal.

I have been outside with my dog for 35 minutes. We arrived first before it opened for lunch. Everyone went in that was waiting for it to open. It opened 11 minutes late. The outside tables have not been addressed by anyone that works here. Pretty stupid not to check and see if I was ordering anything. Réservez une table maintenant

That was a wonderful visit last night. The food was really good, and especially the escargot were the best I've had so far in the States! Update: Second visit last night with guests was just as great! Make your reservations well in advance, they do book out!

Only had a starter, wanted a very light lunch. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp with cheese grits. Absolutely divine! Shrimp were quite large. There were very little grits but the taste was so awesome it didn’t matter. Can’t wait to go back for a full meal.

I usually like the price fix lunch menu. Best onion soup around! The schnitzel chicken sandwich was amazing.
