This restaurant offers an upscale experience with excellent fish at a reasonable price. Each roll I tried was not only interesting but also beautifully presented. The matcha crème brûlée was outstanding as well. If you're considering dining here, I highly recommend making a reservation, especially on busy days! Keep in mind that this is not your typical sushi spot. It isn't like the average sushi places on the East Coast or the West Coast sushi I've experienced; it's unique while still feeling familiar. The prices are slightly higher than what you might expect in the Triangle, but you can taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients.
We made an early reservation for our family of four and were promptly seated. The edamame was incredible—definitely the best I've ever tasted! The tempura calamari and tempura shrimp were also quite good. Our sushi was fantastic, featuring fresh fish at a great price! Even our 7-year-old loved the rolls! The atmosphere was clean, and the service was wonderful. It made for a perfect final meal for our older son before he heads off to boot camp, just as he requested! Highly kid-friendly for sushi-loving little ones!
City Market Sushi is delicious. Some of the freshest, best-tasting sushi I have ever had in the Triangle. Our server was attentive and kind on my most recent visit. The decor and ambiance is nice. Gets busy inside, make a reservation if you can. The only downside for me is that they don't have Lychee Martinis on the menu which are my FAVORITE sweet martini, but I'll gladly forgive them for not knowing to offer my person favorite. ?
On Saturday, we were in downtown and looking for a quiet restaurant that served sushi. We ended up at City Market. They had a decent selection of unique rolls, although there were quite a few speed options that felt a bit unusual for a sushi place. The seating inside is limited, so reservations are recommended. I wouldn’t say it’s the best sushi in Raleigh, but it’s pretty good overall. I would definitely consider coming back.

This is one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve been to, and I’ve tried quite a few! They offer fantastic fusion options, and both the service and food quality are excellent. I would have given it five stars if the prices were a bit lower, but I still love their sushi and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the downtown Raleigh area! I'm especially fond of their lychee dish!
Our first time here. Saturday evening celebrating our anniversary. No wait. The service was excellent with amazing recommendations. The pork belly and edamame apps were incredible! The sushi was fresh and delicious. We?ll definitely be back. Great atmosphere as well. We sat at the window high top table and enjoyed conversation and people watching.
Love loves it here! The sushi is excellent service is great, usually have no problem getting a table. Love the squid salad. We celebrated our anniversary this year and the waiter was friendly enough to give us free tasting. To celebrate our favorite place in Raleigh!
The sushi definitely deserves a solid 5 stars; it was absolutely delicious! However, I had to rate it 4 stars because of the acoustics. The restaurant is small, but it feels more like a noisy sports bar. We really had to strain to hear each other.

Had a really nice dinner here! The sushi wasn?t the best I?ve had but was still very fresh and tasty. The roll selection was solid and varied. Prices were all very reasonable and the ambiance was great!
Great experience every time I visit here! Servers were very nice and serves quickly! Foods were amazing all the time. I really like nigiri plates! Highly recommend it.
