I've visited this place under a number of managers over the years. Very nice location, lovely view over the valley from their sheltered eating area.However, I didn't buy anything on this visit. I wanted a coffee and snack, but when I was told that they only had throw-away coffee cups I went about a half km further along the road to the Caltex roadhouse where I got a proper ceramic mug of coffee and a pie. Disposable coffee cups end up in landfill and should not be used when not necessary.
Called in for lunch on Saturday, hardly anything to choose from, people were walking away after us as there was nothing left! The pasty that I did get, was yummy and the potato pie that my husband got looked great, I think he enjoyed it, as he licked his fingers and had sauce dripping off his nose!! I suppose that might be a good sign that they sell out quickly!! but at 1pm on a Saturday - should have more for the tourist like us!!
No crockery! None. Everything served in landfill fodder. The young staff member tried to explain that they were being environmentally friendly, obviously "educated" by management. Staff and management please look again at your policies.
A bakery with a good selection of yummy food although missed out on trying the Camel pie, maybe next time. Lovely balcony to sit and relax and maybe slip next door to the Kirrihill Cellar door! Réservez une table maintenant
Best Bakery in Clare by far - love the fact they bake on the premises and source things regionally. Service is lovely but a bit disappointed there is no crockery any more for dining in.
Well it was Easter and we ate vanilla slices and coffee instead of Easter eggs so I suppose that is the excuse we gave ourselves. It's an institution in Clare so don't miss it

Most local bakeries are good, but this one raises the bar. You'll be hard pushed deciding what to buy!
