We stopped for dinner at the Clucking Hen. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We sat on the deck( they moved some chairs around so we could all be at one table) and enjoyed the view. Everyone's meal was good. I tried the Fish Chowder and helped my youngest finish his Chicken Caesar Salad. The desserts were the best part though. I had a Apple pie with a Cheddar Crumble topping which was different, but really good. My wife had a Ginger and Pear( I think) Cake ,which tasted amazing. Definitely worth the stop.

I had a chance to stop by this charming and bustling restaurant and bakery twice on a recent trip around the Cabot Trail. It has a kitschy charm with its chicken filled decor and it is in a popular and convenient location. I had a chance to try some of their baked goods which were all excellent. The staff are warm and welcoming and have time to chat with their customers ordering or paying at the counter. It's a great spot that I would definitely try again for lunch on the amazing deck with a fabulous view.

One would think a place called the Clucking Hen would know about eggs...and they do! This was the best breakfast of a 40 day trip! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the toast was actually toasted. To top it off, it was served hot...a real rarity. The bakery had a nice selection of pasteries and the staff was gracious and pleasant. There is a patio outside and the dining area is small but roomy. I would certainly stop in again.

Always a favorite place to stop for lunch! Today we were there for the first time this summer! It has been revamped an if possible is even better than it used to be! It's spotless, the food never disappoints and the service outstanding! Will definitely be back again soon!!! Thank you!!! Réservez une table maintenant

The lobster and crab sandwiches on home-baked porridge bread were superb, and the crab quiche was divine. Canadians know their butter tarts, and the little gems at The Hen were the best we've ever had, period. Yum, yum, double yum.

We had a great meal and a good time there. The cheese twists were very delicious. We talked to the owners sister and she offered great service. Clean. Clearly a gem on the Cabot Trail.

While touring the Cabot Trail, we stopped here three times to pick up snacks and picnic lunches. Food was delicious, especially the desserts!
