This was our first-time dining here. We sat down, the waiter came over to write take our order. We waited 1 hour before we got the attention of the one of the staff to ask where our food was. Another half an hour passed, making it 1.5 hours since we ordered our food, after which our patience had run out and we stood up and left the restaurant having not eaten anything. We were very disappointed considering our friends recommended this place to us and spoke highly of it. I noticed that the other guests at the other tables also didn’t have any food and were sitting hungry and some like us even stood up and left the restaurant altogether. Very sorry to hear that the best front of house person, Alan is unwell. Thinking of you and hoping for a speedy recovery.As always, the food at Coconut House was of a very good standard. Beef Rendang, Salt and Pepper Calamari and Coconut Prawns were excellent. Green Chicken Curry was average to good. Service was friendly but not as attentive as when Alan used to be there. No one thinking to top up wine glasses and refilling rice from the container. And it wasn't a busy night. Maybe 20 customers tops.Having said all that, the food is great and we will be back. Our friends we brought said the same.Best wishes Alan! Health is number one.
Ordered takeaway from this restaurant for a virtual dinner with a friend. She raved about the coconut butter prawns, however they weren’t on the ubereats menu, so I had the coconut butter chicken instead. Also had the fish fillets with coconut house sauce, special fried rice, and side ordering of sambal. Coconut butter chicken was absolutely divine, fragrant and tasty, and sambal was delicious. Fish fillets was good (similar flavour profile to a sweet and sour pork), the fried rice was average. Would definitely go back for the coconut butter chicken (or prawn when restaurants open again)!
Coconut house is a local secret, located in what looks like a business suite, the food is great! When the owner is in, the place is buzzing and friendly and he makes sure to greet every table to have a chat and offer complimentary port at the end of the meal. It's a bit of a different story otherwise with waiters not being overly attentive and feeling rushed. The food is great, with many Asian cuisines not limited to Chinese and they are all very good.

Here's the deal:1. It's authentic. The real deal. You know it's good when locals make the effort to drive there as it's a little out of the way.2. The food is tasty. Duck is great, as is the Szechuan Beef. 3. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I've had both take away and dined in. On both occasions the food was quick and fresh.
I discovered this restaurant while driving home from a football game and craving Malaysian cuisine for dinner. The service was exceptional - very attentive, informative, and friendly. The food was delicious! The restaurant, including the restrooms, were very clean. I will definitely return next time I am in the area.
My friends and I visited Coconut House while staying in Melbourne for the weekend, after hearing great reviews. We were all blown away by the delicious food and exceptional service, and we will definitely be returning in the future.
Best Malaysian food we’ve had in quite a while. Great friendly service. We’re going to have to go back a few times to work our way through the extensive menu. The wine list is quite short but has good choices at reasonable prices

Service staff here is friendly and courteous and makes you feel at home. Food wise is average for the noodles we ordered. But the salt & pepper chicken ribs is fantastic, worth a try.
