Cocoon Vegetarian Cafe

Unfortunately, and I don't want to say, I wasn't impressed by my visit here. The decor is beautiful and the lady serving was friendly enough. But there were three problems. 1) It was dirty; our table had food on it, there were open sugar/coffee pickled salt packages in the small cup (the had food on it and was dirty inside) and there was a hair in the meal of my girlfriend. 2) It was expensive; I'm usually happy to pay a bit extra in an independent cafe, but 75p is extra for vegetable milk, good, just wrong, but also 3) The food was bad; I'm sure the bread, the sausage and the falafel were just out of a package. I'm not worried about food, but if I pay almost £9 for breakfast, I expect a bet...

I really don't like to leave a negative review, but given HappyCow is mainly vegans and vegetarians, I think I have to be honest here as I wish I would read a review of this place before going. The vegan options are limited and the staff does not seem excessively knowledgeable or even worried what is and is not vegan. I'm pretty sure that I was also given milk, like after more than 6 years vegan, I had terrible “stomach problems” in the evening after eating here, which I never had as a vegan and what would beat that I consumed dairy products. I was initially apprehensive about visiting this restaurant due to a negative review I had read, but I found it to be a lovely café. The menu clearly separated the vegan and vegetarian options, offering a wide variety of vegan choices. We tried the vegan all day breakfast, avocado bagel, and two delicious vegan milkshakes. They also had vegan cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake available. The menu had at least 10 different vegan items, and they offered almond, oat, and soy milk for drinks. The only downside was that plant milk incurred an extra charge of 50p, which I found unusual for a vegetarian café. Despite this, our experience was great.

I'm not one to typically leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to be honest about my experience at this restaurant, especially since happycow caters mainly to vegans and vegetarians. The vegan options are scarce and the staff doesn't seem very knowledgeable or concerned about what is and isn't vegan. I suspect that I was even served a dish with milk, as I experienced stomach issues later in the evening - something that hasn't happened in over 6 years of being vegan. The food was subpar, overpriced, and overall, it was a disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend this place and I regret trying it. Réservez une table maintenant

It was a bit worried to come here for a bad review that I read, but I thought it was a nice café. The vegan and vegetarian options were clearly separated on the menu and there were many vegan options. We had the vegan all day breakfast, avocado bagel and two delicious vegan milkshakes. They said they had vegan cheesecakes and chocolate mousse cakes. There were at least 10 different vegan menu items and they had almonds, oats and soy milk for drinks. A complaint is vegetable milk costs 50p extra, which I think is unusual for a vegetarian café, but apart from that it was great.

They still offer vegetarian and vegan options, but they will also serve meat starting in January 2023.
