Dinner at College Lawn with my family was a disaster. It's close by so thought we would give them another try, after long wait for meals in the past. The menu must be too big for the kitchen to manage or they just don't have enough kitchen staff. Ordered two steak sandwiches and two fish and chips......waited almost 40 minutes, only four other tables occupied! Meals far too big portions for 2017 eating trends. Steak sandwiches cold and overfilled with 'lettuce mix'. Wait staff apologetic but uninterested in long wait for service....maybe a regular problem? Felt ripped off and unhappy. Definitely won't be back again.
Sunday sessions are fantastic at the college lawn. Johnny Wonderpants play on Sunday Arvos and the atmosphere starts very chilled then ramps up to rockin! The food here is tasty with generous proportions. Friendly staff too. People of all ages frequent this pub so you don't feel too old/ young. I recommend the College Lawn to travellers to experience a slice of the real Melbourne. Situated on Greville st, you can wander the streets cafes and designer stores before heading to the pub to settle in for the afternoon/ evening. Top choice!
The College Lawn run a steak night Tuesday. Choice of steaks at very good prices. I had the Porterhouse ($14) which came with a great slaw and beer chips. Steak was a good piece for the price. Well worth the money. Next time though I'll go for the Rib Eye ($21) that I saw others eating and looked extremely good. The pub has multiple screens showing different sports, a good selection of tap beer and the staff were friendly. Will be back again for that Rib Eye.
On a rainy Thursday night. Best to get in real quick with a cosy fire place to keep myself warmth.A local Thursday night of 6 different chicken Parma. Tonight, it was my third attempts to taste the third Parma selection on the menu. It certainly did not disappoint. One of an Indian twist, it was simply beautiful.Service is attentive. Girls are also always polite, friendly. Can't wait to pay another visit again soon.

After a long day we wanted a nice meal where we didn't have to wait too long. So happy this place was recommended to us.We were not overly hungry so ordered the large parmy and an extra set of cutlery and a plate. These guys were only too happy to accommodate this request. The meal didn't take long and we really enjoyed every morsel! We would happily return.
Monday night is local night. $13 for a main of hearty pub food. You will not be disappointed by the size of the meal( come hungry) the friendliness of the service staff and the promptness of service. A great quick, hearty , no fuss meal. I followed up with a delightful berry crumble. I will return and I am a "local".
The beef burger and Corona $20 deal on Wednesday Trivia nights is actually pretty good. This is a lovely pub for a drink and I recommend it as a friendly local. If you are visiting Melbourne and staying nearby, drop in for a drink.

We had burger and fish and chips, very delicious. All of the food that come out looked good. Staff very friendly and efficient.
