We tried to have lunch but it was full and we booked for diner. We arrived 6.55 pm instead of 7pm and the manager said you are too early by 5 minutes, very abrupt and unfriendly, the same attitude he showed during lunch time towards other customers. He has mustache and light beard (black or dark brown). He put us right at the back of the restaurant or cafe near fruit juices machines while others table are unoccupied. Our waiter is a young guy who absolutely polite, friendly and accommodating. This manager passed by and told him off to clear the other two table settings because it was only 2 of us. We saw him looking at the mirror tidying up his mustache on the way up, while we re dining near by. The meal (galettes) were ok nothing special actually a bit disappointing because it was not as tasty as we re expecting. The worst of the experience was a lot of flies and wasps. The wasps circled around our wines and drinks. We would like to stay for dessert to try the crepe but terrified of wasps. We left in a hurry not a nice experiences at all (a very quick dinner only a half an hour since we arrived and it cost us Euro 40 for 2 galettes, a small carafe of house wine and 2 fruit juices). We gave a tip to the young waiter and told him that he gave excellent service and made the effort unlikes his manager. We will not return not because of the meal but the manager’s attitude put right us off. Not a place we would ever recommend to anyone. (La Colomb’auge Creperie Normandy French)
This Creperie was very busy when we arrived. Despite this the staff were welcoming and found us a table quickly. A good range of options on the menu and the food was served quickly. We had Galettes and the platter of local produce cheese, pate, salad) all delicious. The sweet crepes were also very good. Lovely fresh salad and the local apple juice was very refreshing. The loo was clean.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the waitress who organised our table with children’s high chair during their busy lunch hour. The crepes, ciders and the desserts all tasted declious. We had friends visiting France, amd they quite enjoyed the experience in this authentic little gem.
