Went here for breakfast with a friend and wanted to try a bit of everything. Ordered the corned beef hash breakfast that came with 2 eggs and the choice of grits, hashbrowns or sliced tomatoes, and either white/wheat toast or a buttermilk biscuit. I ordered the eggs to be scrambled, chose the grits, and got the biscuit. I also ordered a short stack side of pancakes and a coffee, which was cheap at $1.69. The grits were amazing white corn grits and finely ground, the biscuit was fluffy, and the eggs were great. Compton's Kitchen is truly a hidden gem. From the moment I walked in, every staff member, especially the cashier, was incredibly friendly. They greeted me warmly and showed genuine care by remembering customers' names, thanking them for their visits, and encouraging them to come back. I ordered takeout from their menu and received my food quickly. Despite making a few stops on the way home, everything stayed fresh and was prepared exactly as I requested. There was plenty to share with my mom as well. If you're looking for a cozy place for breakfast or lunch, or need catering services, I highly recommend checking out Compton's Kitchen. The prices are very reasonable, too!
The staff was exceptionally friendly! This restaurant really lives up to its promise of simple, hearty country cooking. All the servers were attentive, making dish recommendations, ensuring my drinks were topped up, and serving the food quickly. My meal arrived hot and delicious. I ordered the baked spaghetti special, which came with two sides: sweet potato casserole and broccoli casserole. I also had the option of choosing between two biscuits or cornbread. I finished my meal with sweet tea, and the total came to just $11, not including tip. Overall, it was a delightful experience with fantastic food in a relaxed atmosphere.
The food was absolutely delicious. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was friendly and attentive. I went there for breakfast, but I’m definitely planning to go back to sample their lunch options and other menu items. I highly recommend this restaurant—great food at reasonable prices; what’s not to love?

This is one of the few remaining places that still serves a meat and three vegetables for approximately $8. They offer a choice of 4 or 5 different meats, along with a variety of vegetables, which are often fresh when in season. Although it's slightly out of the way, the value here is unbeatable.

I couldn't decide between the ribeye plate or fried bologna plate....I'm sooooo glad I did!! It was worth every bit on that tastey, moist buttermilk biscuit ???? I did start lusting after my neighbors French toast so I have to come back to satisfy thatcraving

The bacon was perfectly cooked, but the eggs were overdone and fell apart. The French toast lacked any flavor. However, the restaurant itself is charming, and the waitstaff are very friendly.
