My wife and I had dinner at Connors last night. The lamb meat balls and the lemon myrtle squid were a great start to the night. Beef cheek and barramundi were delightful. Date pudding and apricot pie were really nice. The service was faultless: leaving...us time to consider the menu and between courses. The waiter was happy to pass our request for custard with the pudding to the chef. The restaurant has a good view out of floor to ceiling windows but it was dark and raining last night. We were tempted to have a port near the open fire on the way out but decided to leave it for next time.
it is easy to dismiss hotel restaurants as this cheap place for business travelers to take dinner, but a bit boring. conners feels like a hidden gem in clare with great eating that is not pretentious and overpriced. the kangaroo is my court, which... is always good with a glass of local shiraz. the staff are friendly and leah and kayla go out of the way to take care of them. the breakfast was good and it was nice to see the buffet with a good selection.
We came to the restaurant as we were staying at the Country Club, so it was nice and convinent (particularly since we didn't have to leave the building to get there!). The food really was of exceptional quality and taste, and all the staff seemed to go above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was enjoyable.
connors has such a great mood, and the staff including the kitchen staff, make it an excellent experience that repeatedly arises. I would like to see a change in the menu, although we all have. it tastes again. I think they should keep a few favorites, but add some new decisions and taste sensations:

We were staying in the hotel so phoned up to book the restaurant the week before.When we presented ourselves at the restaurant we had not been entered into the reservations book, which was very disappointing.They managed to find us a table, which was lucky for them
A delightfull and friendly cellar door. The girls very helpful in guiding us through the tasting. Wines are all $17 so no issues of being influenced by price. The wines are all great value for money so thoroughly recommend a visit.
Had breakfast and dinner in Conners. Breakfast was busy but we enjoyed our feed, felt sorry for the staff dealing with some difficult guests! Dinner was great, service was spot on and really enjoyed the kangaroo.
First time here..I must say i have been through Clare over 100+ times and stayed overnight in other hotels/motels a few times.The meal,service is up there to 1st class..We wil be back

Conners Restaurant at The Clare Country Club is worth a visit. Great food, wines and lovely setting overlooking the lake. Food is seasonal and is matched to some great local wines.
The menu is quite extensive as is the wine list. Waiting staff were knowledgeable and polite.The food was good. My only minor gripe was that fries are not chips as per the menu.
