Coombe Yarra Valley

Yesterday, we brought some international friends, and they had a lovely time. However, the only downside was the menu change. Over the years, we've seen many menu updates, but the latest version isn’t our favorite. We were disappointed to see some beloved dishes gone, like the charcuterie plate, burger, thick chips, and the "garden in a glass," not to mention the steak. Some other dishes have been altered as well, such as the Melba, which was nowhere near as good as it used to be. On a positive note, we were glad to see that the bread is still on the menu, and I hope the chef’s chutney from the charcuterie plate is still available, as it's my favorite and the only chutney I’ll eat! Truly my most memorable experience in the Yarra! The history was lovely and mixed well with modern design and a great menu and stylish space. Wines are exactly what is hoped and more than expected. Their Pinot Noir and Blanc de Blanc are not to be missed. Service was polite, courteous and interesting. Coombe is not for the masses but for lovers of quality I recommend if you prefer a quality hospitality with wine and food that delivers on your hope for something special. Makes me wish they had an accommodation choice.

Four of us went to Coombe to celebrate a birthday, knowing we were going to a top restaurant that provides great food and great service. We were certainly not disappointed. Although the portions were fairly small, everything was presented well and could not have been more delicious. Perhaps the desserts could have been, say, 50% bigger portions than they were.

Our first visit to Coombe was simply perfect. The staff were amazing—very attentive, helpful, and impeccably presented. Our experience was truly delightful, and I can't recommend the high tea enough. Thank you for making our outing so memorable!

We love Melba Coombe Estate. The food (the food!! and wine is amazing, and all the staff are fantastic. A special mention for Os, who is wonderfully welcoming and really looks after us. We always enjoy seeing you again. Thank you!

Coombe Estate is such a lovely place with beautiful gardens and a magical history, I would highly recommend a tour. The food in the restaurant is out of this world, an absolute taste sensational
