I will start with the one and only positive. The food is good. The rest of our experience was awful. Let’s start with the booking. I booked around a ten days in advance of our 30th wedding anniversary and the landlord took a deposit to secure the booking for the evening of bank holiday Monday 31st May. This was a surprise for my wife. My wife and I had gone shopping around 3 days before we were due to dine, on our arrival home I noticed the answer machine flashing with a new message, I pressed play and found it was the landlord who stated that he would have to cancel the booking as they do not serve in the evening on bank holidays yet he took the booking?. Don’t get me wrong, the food is actually pretty decent. Such a shame it comes with such absolutely terrible service from seemingly pleasant staff that have been given ridiculous rules to follow and absolutely shocking example set by management. You have to order your food writhing 15 minutes of when the table is booked so god help if any of your party is running late, because they won’t be eating. The staff leer at you until you finish your food like they can’t wait to see the back of you. We were told that one one of the meals would be missing an item because they didn’t have any but when asked what the alternative was the reply was “well, nothing. It just comes without”. Have been coming here for many years but will be a long time if ever before we will return. Customer service was appalling. Took both my son myself several attempts over 2 weeks to book. I even emailed them asking for them to phone me to be given a blunt reply stating their opening hours that was it. If only they would answer the phone took bookings during these times I would not have needed to have emailed them ! ... Eventually I managed to book we were all extremely disappointed. Requested 1 take out meal to be told they no longer do this yet we could order an extra meal plate it up ourself to take out The meal was very salty, we had issues with ordering extra Yorkshire, the ice cream was...
Terrible experience. Went in for a drink and clearly mentioned we were not eating, just having drinks. The first staff member ignored us and walked away without taking our order. The second staff member nearly did the same until I had to specifically ask them to take my order. To make matters worse, another customer who came in after me had their order taken before mine. Unbelievable. Will not be coming back due to the shocking service.

I recently enjoyed a fantastic Christmas dinner with my family at this restaurant. I would highly recommend it, from the delicious food to the attentive and friendly staff. We were very impressed and will definitely be returning in the future.
Really nice lunch at the Corner House last Sunday, we hadn’t been for a number of years, we will definitely be returning. Thank you to the team for an enjoyable visit, good food great service.
Visited for lunch with my Daughter today, Hospitality was exceptional along with the food not only being a plenty but very tasty can tell it’s fresh and homemade. Highly recommend.
The service at this restaurant was excellent, the food was delicious with generous portions that we couldn't even finish. It was truly an exceptional dining experience.
