We have been to Corto before and the food has always been great and the service friendly. However, I would advise against going on a busy Saturday. My husband and I visited today and got there at 2pm. The rugby was on at Twickenham so the whole street was very busy. We were told that it would take five or so minutes to get a table and be served and we were fine with that, particularly as it was a busy day. After sitting down we had to get our own menus and then call the waiter after 20 mins of waiting. We ordered a water and a beer (in addition to food) but were given a beer and a coke. Food did not arrive and at 3pm I asked if we were still getting it. 18 mins later when our order was given...

here for coffee with my family, the general aesthetic of the place is beautiful and although it is a small facility, we were very comfortable. we ordered two tees, a latte, white hot chocolate and a crimped, sadly they had no soy milk, so one of my party had to change their choice. I then ordered a sandwich and had to wait well twenty minutes until it arrives, despite the fact that we were pretty the only customers there. When it arrived, it was nice, but should not have taken twenty minutes since only the brot was warm not the whole sandwich. we then ordered a cake, but that never came to our table. after the payment of our bill, which is quite over price for just one...read more

Called in for a cold drink, afternoon coffee and some pastries. The ladies behind the counter were very welcoming and recommended cold drinks and delicious pastries for us. We sat outside on comfortable chairs with good cushions and drinks and food were promptly bought to us. This is the quieter end of Church St., in the afternoon at least. The pastries were delicious and the coffee was very good too. They offer lots of different paninis and salads for light lunches. This is deli as well as a café with lots of traditional Italian produce on sale. We will definitely pop in for a longer look round the shelves next time we are in Twickenham

the birthday of my sohnes is not for a few weeks, but with my daughter in worcestershire, planned celebration, etc. the logistics, organizing a family to celebrate jonathan's birthday, meant an early start. but then who is not happy to start celebrating early!. I have suggested that we all go to corto italian deli and remember the wonderful birthday meal they offered for me last year. corto is a family lover, we go there a lot: for morning coffee, lunch and buy Italian dishes like their wonderful cold meat, cheese, pasta and homemade cakes, and the favorites of the family - taralli.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon, were people there but not overly busy. Ordered 2 coffees a panini. It took ages the panini arrived before the coffees, I had nearly finished it before the drinks came. Nice food but the service needs looking at as it wasn't that busy then!

I am so impressed with how Corto shifted their business model and became a lifeline to Twickenham when things like pasta and tinned tomatoes were out of stock everywhere. As things open back up I will continue to support them and hope others will too!

Lovely deli with nice coffee and snacks, you do have to sit outside which could be a problem in poor weather, also in the shade.
