I usually enjoy Costa cafes, but this particular one was terrible. The staff were rude, the place was dirty and disorganized. Even outside the cafe was filthy. It seems that Costa doesn't take pride in their surroundings. I regret not noticing the warning signs of the exterior before going in. An older woman who served us was visibly annoyed when I looked at the drinks menu, she shouted at me aggressively and asked what I wanted. Another staff member pushed my husband out of the way to refill the merchandise counter, it was incredibly rude. I wonder who trained these individuals? Currently, the cafe is empty with the staff huddled up chatting and relaxing, completely ignoring the dirty table...
After negotiating the checking in system, which is right beside the counter and would probably be better located nearer the entrance, I passed my uncooked toastie to the assistant, who was less than friendly. I had to ask her to repeat herself twice and instead of speaking more clearly, she proceeded to shout very loudly through the screen at me, attracting the attention of everyone around. I was being asked if I wanted a drink with my food and I'm sure if she had picked up a cup I would have deduced what she was trying to communicate. I understand the difficulty that screens and masks bring but shouting was not the way to resolve the issue. Some staff training required here I think. To add...
Thought we would pop in for a quick brunch on our travels through Montrose. Not sure what was worse, the staff or cleanliness! Staff member initially appeared helpful though after asking her to clean the table she quickly became aloof and constantly said she could not hear us. I then asked her a few questions regarding Montrose and was quickly told she was new to the area and couldn't be of anymore use! Think she meant that in general as Avril ? (mid 20’s glasses) then choose to ignore us. This Costa requires more polite staff and in general a deep clean. Not impressed.
After a long working week we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast at Costa. When we got there the shelves were empty. There was literally 2 bacon rolls left. We grabbed them and made our way to the counter. We always ask for cold brew and they never seem to have any. Even though it is on the menu!! We had fruit juices instead and sat at a rather sticky table with a rather dirty looking floor. The place was in need of a seriously good clean. We got some cakes to take away which were nice to have later in the day.

I usually visit the Costa in Broxden, Perth because it's close to where I live and the service is usually friendly and fast. However, I was shocked at the rudeness I encountered during my recent visit. I was completely ignored in favor of the person behind me, and the staff member didn't even acknowledge me when I asked for assistance multiple times. The service was incredibly slow and it seemed like they just didn't care. I will not be returning to this location ever again.
On October 15, 2023, I went to Costa in Montrose with my two adult daughters. I accidentally dropped the tray during our visit, causing one of the hot chocolates to spill all over the table. The male barista quickly came over to clean it up without making a big deal out of it and even offered to bring us new drinks. I was very impressed with the service!
Poor choice of food, fridge low on stock, flies in cake cabinet, rude manager. Toilets not as clean as they should be, everything wiped with a wet cloth but not dried off so streaks show on everything.
Don't go wearing your Sunday best as upholstery is absolutely filthy As for offering Mark's and Spencer product it's extortionate Anything to make a quick buck

A typical Costa Coffee cafe with a far from intertesting decor but the service and coffee were very good.
Brilliant visit. Got what I wanted and friendly staff. Just can't wait till inside seating is reopened
