Entered the coffee shop at approximately 7-30am on Saturday morning with a friend and my 7 month old Shih Tux we were at the counter ordered our drinks and food. Took our drinks and sat by a window at the back of the shop. My toast had to be re-toasted as was barely warm happens no problem! Both times the same waitress served us not sure of her position. Sometime later toast eaten chatting together the waitress came and asked us to leave as a customer had complained, dogs were only allowed in while ordering, I did say we had not been told that and that I have visited a few costa with my dog and had no problems some have bowls of water down and a special seating area. She also said it was Costa policy. We started to prepare to leave at this stage with the waitress hovering over us I explained we were going to leave and no need to stay and watch us, she came with a feeble excuse that she was waiting to clear the table, not that she had done this to other customers. There were other tables that had not been cleared and cleaned! I will never go into that Costa again I am almost 70 years old and was not expecting to be treated in this way. If you want a decent costa coffee with your dog then do go to the one on North Orbital Road A414 St Albans AL21DL the staff are polite friendly and welcoming I will be going there next time trust me!
Came in for my morning coffee before work and witnessed an emotional and unprofessional manager sack a poor girl on the spot?! This employee was clearly distressed by this, and the manager allowed this whole conversation to happen IN FRONT of customers!!!! Incredibly unfair for all the customers in the shop trying to have their peaceful morning! Unfortunately I am a manager in a Hospitality environment myself, and was shocked to see the lack of professionalism and choice of disgusting language used on this young employee and hence why I am coming on here to place my complaint. These conversations should NOT under ANY circumstances be in front of customers. I will not be returning to Costa as I can never pay money into a company that allows their employee’s to be treated this way. Incredibly poor management.
I consider the price of each drink too high. The name is not enough to ensure the quality, 2.65£ for an average peach iced tea is too much money. It's just the same as all the other cafes in the surroundings, nothing more, maybe a bit less. The place is big, the menu is vaste, the barista are not bad. Nothing is bad, honestly, but there isn't anything that makes you go there as well. An average place, avoidable
the environment is great for small talk as ambient music is too loud. Quick bites such cheese cones or soups are excellent. The overall rating was great but I had to downsize it as in the cashier/order. They use the trick of we ask for small order size of hot drinks and they serve and charge a bigger sizei
