A colleague has suggested that a popular Trouville Restaurant is undeserved of its acclaim because it lacks sophistication. What would be said of eating off (or at least ‘on’ the pavement, a chance of getting wet if it rains, no cushioned seating, no bread with the meal, no desert. The name of the restaurant? Well it is not one – but ten, each unit, joined to its neighbour in the modern high street Marché aux Poissons (sounds better than fish market . Each has the freshest and finest produce from local waters and beyond. You will find the three sizes of Oysters, Lobster, Shrimp, Prawns, Langoustine, Mussels, Scallops, Crab, Clams, and Whelks. There are also giant varieties of species from warmer seas which might taste good but could easily be extras on a Star Trek planet. . No café to finish off but wine by the glass, Chablis and a medley of other whites. The middle unit has an enormous offering of freshly prepared paella if you want something hot and if like me you sometimes prefer smoked salmon, it will be there on most stalls, not necessarily on display. By the way Sunday is market day covering the whole of the high street, and eating starts off very early Of course you can also buy produce to take home. Leave a small tip for the lass who skins and prepares you choice and you may find the male servers will all loudly serenade you, announcing your generosity to all. Imagine that happening in Tesco’s at home.
Nous venons de « dévorer » cette nouvelle spécialité de saumon, et c’est juste « Wow »!!! Je déteste personnellement le saumon, et là je n’ai pas laissé ma part! C’est fabuleux, c’est divin, c’est dommage que nous soyons si loin, sinon je me suis retourné pour revenir à la recherche. Merci de m’avoir réconcilié avec ce poisson, mais je pense que c’était le savoir-faire du chef qui l’a sublimé. Encore bravo !
