More of an eatery and a carvery than a restuarant, but still offers excellent value and quality eating. We rarely pay more than 30 Euros all in for the three of us, including a soft drink and a 50cl pichet of house wine (presently equal to only just over £20! . There is always an à volonté option on the menu (often moules or grenouilles which is vaied each of the seven days of the week it is open for luch and evening meals, and you can always fill up as many times as you want from the vegetables servery area which usually offers a great choice of sides including frites, riz, (sometimes pate swirls plus at least four or five vegetable options to choose from. Pizza 's are usually ok although they can vary a lot from week to week. The grilled fish options are always generous, and we have always left here feeling well fed and very satisfied! Friday evenings especially can get very busy, and it can get very noisy at peak busy times but there is always room enough to find a table, and the longest we have ever waiting to place an order is probably no more than 10 minutes even at the most busiest of times. great luchtime and early evening eating option if you are short on time!
We have never had a bad meal at Crescendo Thiers, unlike with some other Cafeterias, some of which have been abominable. Sometimes, at Crescendo, the food is just, well good; more rarely, it is just OK, excellent value but representing simple French cuisine. Often though, the food is excellent and amazingly good value for the price. We recently ate there again after a long absence, and the food was of Michelin star quality for a very affordable price. Fresh ingredients, well cooked by very professional staff. Their calamar in batter was at one time the best I have ever btasted anywhere fresh not frozen and cooked to perfection. There is always something on the menu to suit most tastes but occasionally their star dish can only be described as Haute Cuisine. Never had a bad experience but sometimes a delightful one.
