There is a reason when in the summer there is a long line snaking around the plaza that was once Caribou/Einstein Bagels, and now is Caribou, with the fountain and a parking lot on the other side of the restaurants. I first heard about Cup Cone several years ago, and just last week, I finally had the chance to visit. This charming little spot in White Bear Lake offers an impressive variety of ice cream flavors, including dairy-free options, along with many toppings to choose from. I also noticed that they serve food, and the submarine sandwiches looked enormous! Although the line was long, it moved quickly, and the staff managed the busy atmosphere very well. Vanilla soft serve in a waffle cone. I feel like the world of ice cream these days is all about crazy flavors, fancy scoops with a million random toppings thrown in. Sometimes, you want to step back from sprinkles, gummy bears and chunks of brownie in your ice cream and just have a great flavored and textured soft serve. That's what we have here. They're becoming harder and harder to find. Cup and cone was quick, polite, and a great value in terms of price. Highly recommend if you're a fan of soft serve. They also do fancy dips as well such as birthday cake. For those that want more frills.
We visited for the first time this weekend after hearing rave reviews from friends. My son chose the chocolate and vanilla twist topped with rainbow sprinkles. The only downside was that the ice cream started to lean to one side and began dripping as soon as I received it at the window. It ended up being a bit messy for our 6-year-old, with drips going everywhere.
Aside from that, it’s a really cute ice cream shop with some other appealing menu items. Just a heads up: there are usually long lines, but they move incredibly quickly.

Locally owned and a townie must-do , don 't miss cup cone on your next trip to the WBL. The unassuming building is known to have a line throughout the open season. The soft serve is, of course, my go-to, but my dad loves to indulge in one of their freshly made sub sandwiches. Have your order ready because the line moves quicker than you expect!
This place is fantastic! I really enjoyed the ice cream cone I had, and it was lovely to sit outside on the benches while savoring it. The service was prompt, so even with a long line, it didn't take long at all. I will definitely come back during my next trip to the area!
Last days of the 2022 season! Specials everyday until closure (November 23). Be sure to check them out before they close for the season! We had a couple of sundaes tonight: crème de mint with marshmallows red raspberry with crunchies. You won't find this anywhere else!
