We are here in Houston for a vacation weekend. We stopped in for lunch and or the seafood bowl (pasta, corn, boiled egg, potatoes, shrimp, crab patties with a sauce) out of all that, the shrimp and pasta was okay. Everything else needed to be cooked longer and add seasoning. For as long as we were waiting, you would think they were throwing down in the kitchen. I also bought a banana pudding cupcake except that there was no banana pudding flavor. It's just a regular yellow cake mix with whip cream icing and a vanilla wafer on top. Dear diners, I highly advise against ordering food from a dessert-focused establishment. The desserts are the only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars. The cabbage was decent and mildly tender, but that’s where the positives end. The jerk chicken and fried chicken were overly greasy, and the mac and cheese was completely bland— not a hint of salt or pepper to be found. The red beans and rice were dry, lacking any flavor, and somehow gooey at the same time. How does one manage to make red beans and rice dry? Lastly, steer clear of the spaghetti. I've been dining here for months and they have consistently impressed me! I ordered the fried chicken dinner and the salmon and shrimp dinner; both come in generous portions and are packed with exceptional flavors. Unfortunately, I got stuck in traffic and the fried chicken meal didn't make it home, but the salmon and shrimp was more than enough for two people. I'm definitely coming back every week!
I had a pretty good experience overall. I took off one star because it was a bit pricey, with most meals costing around $30, and the mac and cheese was a bit dry and not as tasty as I had hoped. On the bright side, the buffalo wings were delicious! I really enjoyed the cake—both the red velvet and the banana pudding cake were excellent. I'll definitely be returning!
I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant! It's overpriced, the food was undercooked, and the customer service was lacking. I ordered two salmon and shrimp bowls, and both had undercooked salmon. I will not be returning.
Don't waste your time and/or money. I had salmon and shrimp pasta which wasn't seasoned and undercooked with stewed tomatoes that were mushy and disgusting. I wanted to love this place but for $25 I’ll never go again.

A friend of mine recommended this place, and it's unbelievable that I had been passing by it all this time without realizing they served soul food. It truly offers the best soul food I've ever tasted!
I had the salmon pasta. The pasta was great salmon with salsa and the sides. They gave more than enough food!
