We should have been wary when the parking lot was empty at 5:00pm. Fish & chips were a very large 2 piece portion but the batter was dark, hard & dry on the outside with a mushy layer beside the overcooked not so fresh haddock. The french fries were a dark colour...perhaps the cooking oil needs to be filtered or changed. The liver & onions was fair. The gravy was as thick as mayonnase, and not very hot. The salt & pepper shakers were coated in greasy food that appeared to be butter or mayonnase that had been there for a while. This unique restaurant style pub is an amazing place to go find while your in the Nova Scotia area, not just for the good food, hospitality and drinks but also the decor. They have an amazing amount of old antiques in every square inch of this establishment and a lot of it depicts the history of the people of this little community from farming and logging to the local crafts equipment use to sustain this community. I really enjoyed finding this little gem and look forward to returning to visit and enjoy a meal again. Make sure you take the time to look around at all the history on these walls.

Had not been there in some 15 years went yesterday and was disappointed. Love the decor. Fries were over cooked. Veggies seamed to be very old and stale. Steak not bad but the mushrooms and onions were under cooked. I recall the previous visit from 15 years earlier. Fries over cooked then as well

Went there twice on recent visit as some interesting dishes. Food and drinks were good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Interesting ambiance. Worth a visit as some varied menu a little different from normal. Shepherds Pie and Pulled Pork both very good. Seemed populkar

Went here recently and had the ribs and skins which were excellent. Prices are a little high but portions are large. The place has run down over the years bit is slowly coming back and so are the crowds. They are one of the original eating places in the area.

Had not eaten here for a few years but it continues to be a good place to stop. Sausage and saurkraut was excellant and a good price. Other dishes friends had were the same, good quantity, good taste and good prices. Lots of parking, fast service.

Most of us got a burger. The homemade buns were really good, the patty was good, but it lacked sauce and toppings. Food was hot and came in a timely matter. Service was mediocre. Curlys will fill your belly but it's nothing to write home about.

Very pleasantly surprised with the food we received at curlys, lots of it and great tasting. The potatoe skins are a must and to die for. I highly recommend stopping for a bite to eat here!

Group dinner for 16 persons, had great and fast service even with the place packed, great food, large portions at reasonable prices.

Good pub food. Service is good. Would like to see more selection of NS craft beer. Good pub comfort food
